LSI A/S is the maker of a handhold that is made of extruded aluminum that combines the approved strength with a low weight. This will facilitate both the handling and the mounting. The LSI safety handhold has also a big enough glue surface that together with screws will give the necessary strength against the wall. The handhold is excellent for corridor walls and there are sufficient models to complete any corridor in such a way that you have a handhold every step of the way. There are also models suitable for vertical mounting where you do not have enough space for horizontal mounting.

LSI Profil R

Scope
In joint action with existing and new handrails, satisfy the following demands in SAOLA Chapter II-2 Regulation 28-1:

"Handrails and other handholds shall be of such strength as to withstand a distributed load of 750 N/m applied in the direction of the center of the corridor or space, and a distributed vertical load of 750 N/m applied in the downward direction. The two loads need not be applied simultaneously".

Location
LSI Profile R is place as a reinforcment on the outside of the existing bulkhead, and in the back edge of the handrail bracket.

Mountain procedure
LSI Profil R are glued on the outside of the bulkhead with an elastic MS-polymer glue, ISR 70-03, which have the qualifications regarding strength, age and weather-resistance (pollutions/UV light). The glue is not inflammable, and satisfy the demand from The Norwegian Maritime Organization regarding low ability of spreading of flames. The profile are to be assembled in the bulkhead with 4,2 mm securing el. zink screw DIN 798101115.

Low Weight
By using aluminum, the weight added to the ship will be reduced to a minimum. This will facilitate both the handling and the mounting.

Design
Extruded aluminium, which gives the Profil strength and durability.

Advertisement possibilities or Decor Laminat
The LSI Profil R is prepared for advertisement, information or the use of decor laminate. Commercial use of the LSI Profil R can be valuable for the ship-owner. He may sell discreet advertisement in the corridors of public spaces that will be a natural part of the interior. On several ships, it will be easier to find the right corridor for the passengers cabin. Pat. Pending.
